Ellen's Birthday Fiesta :)

Ellen Reynolds had a fabulous birthday party last night! She said it would be many years again before her actual birthday falls on a Saturday so she decided to go for it. She rented out a small neighborhood restaurant called "La Revolucion". It is just down 2 blocks from us on Matamoras. Half of the area was under roof and half open air so it was a delightful space. She had 5 tables of 6 each. She did a seating chart so no one was seated at a table with their partner. Then she mixed it up constantly and we ended up at every table. She had a trio similar to mine early on then she had a DJ (her dentist's assistant and her boyfriend) and she had brought down some CD's of mixes of her old favorites. Some of this stuff I hadn't heard in years it was a great time! :) People danced for hours! She had numerous courses of appetizers like a shrimp and bacon tortilla with guac to die for then big platters of ribs and chicken and fish and shrimp and rice and vegetables then flan. Incredibly delicious! They had the owner of the restaurant's son Simon and a young waitress, Evita, (family member probably) in purple hot pants outfit (!) (I have a picture of Dennis dancing with her!) who served us and I mean she would be pouring red wine from one hand and white from the other, pitchers of margaritas and beer and tequila. Many people were very inebriated including Dennis! ;) Then these two servers also danced with us. It totally reminded us of the scene from Night of the Iguana when Pepe and Paco were dancing with Ava Gardner! They were even shaking maracas!

I also shot a brief video of Ellen singing to "Dancing Queen" ;)
