Trying to blog using the new iPhone app

Yesterday we had lunch at Bolero
in the Rio Cuale. A most beautiful and peaceful setting with the river flowing over the rocks by our table.

After a cerveza fria (or two) Dennis had tortilla soup and I tried a cream of asparagus and mushroom. Excelente! They have a delightful chef, Ishmael, who along with his wife, Esther, own Bolero.

In Bordeaux Haut Brion

On Friday we started the day with our appointment at Haut Brion at 11. Both the Haut Brion and Mission Haut Brion are owned by the same family, the president being a Prince of Luxembourg. The Haut Brion label is a grand cru and they explained how there are just 5 that can say this in Bordeaux. I am sure Joan and Bob could explain this much better than I but suffice to say we tasted a wine that sells for €165.
They also gave us a lovely book and there wad no charge. They autographed The books with a special 'Joeux Anniversaire' to Bob since it was his 75th birthday that day.

This winery is in a suburb of Bordeaux called Pessac and right in between houses and town. They have 66 (I think) different plots for their vines cut up by development yet still produce this amazing Grand Cru. I don't remeber much but I do think they grow equal Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (about 47% each) and then a couple of others in a very small % and they do a blend.
